New York Mets Podcast #3

A disappointing 9-5 loss the the Washington Nationals in 10 innings.

On The Downside

Wagner blows the save giving up a game tying homer to Ryan Zimmerman. Then the bullpen falls to pieces in the 10th. Mets fail to deliver a killing blow after an early lead.

On The Upside

Brian Bannister looks promising. Great defensive play by Anderson Hernandez. Carlos Delgado 1st homer as a Met. David Wright get another RBI. Reyes looks more patient at the plate.

In The Booth

Finally found SNY on Channel 60 on Hudson County Cablevision. Keith and Gary put too much emphasis on Bannister's 5 innings of no hit ball.

Call in to the new comment line at (206) 333-0536 with your thoughts on the first couple of games. Sneek a peek at my previous Mets site called MetsFanatic.com. NOT the 1st loss for Brian Bannister as I state in the audio. Jorge Julio picked up the loss for his dismal relief performance.

New York Mets Podcast #2

A 3-2 win over The Nationals on opening day. Tom Glavine, pitched a nice six innings. Xavier Nady got four hits and David Wright homered. Carlos Beltran threw out Jose Vidro to end the game. Billy Wagner gets the save.

Elsewhere, Mike and the Mad Dog were talking about Paul LoDuca bobbling the ball on a key play at the plate with Alfonso Soriano. Nice to see the Mets get a call. They also harped on the terrible traffic, Billy Wagner’s usage of Enter Sandman and the poor post game coverage of the Mets TV network.

Aaron Heilman looked shaky in relief. And Carlos Beltran had a poor game at the plate, popping out with runners on 2nd and 3rd with less than two outs.

Sad news about Doc Gooden violating his probation.
